Most platforms expose more than the documentation admits — undocumented webhooks, partner endpoints, a CSV or SFTP fallback, browser automation as the last resort — and the job is finding the real path between two systems that were never built to talk to each other.
Underneath, it's webhook and API plumbing: authentication that survives token expiry, retry logic for the calls that fail silently instead of loudly, and data mapping between two platforms that describe the same real thing — an order, a customer, a shipment — completely differently. Done properly, the two systems just stay in sync. Nobody's sitting in the middle doing it by hand anymore.
